This page will be updated as events and news are added. Pay attention to: deadlines, costs and activity contacts. We utilize a 2-step process to register and pay for trips and events. Step 1, a link may be available to make your Paypal payment for the event (sometimes there is no payment). Step 2, Click the register button (or the alternate link) to go to our registration form.

Creation of Troop 97 for Girls



Germonds Church, our chartering organization, has authorized the Troop Committee to form a girls troop. The troop will begin meeting along with Troop 97 for boys beginning Wed 3/18.

This troop will be run separately from Troop 97 for Boys but will share the adult committee using the linked troop model as shown above.

Troop 97 will be participating in St. Baldrick’s this year. See scout Logan H. for more details – event is Sunday 3/15 @ Dominican College. Signup for the Troop 97 team here.

MERIT BADGES – Parents, we need you to become a Merit Badge Counselor to support our troop!

Scouts are expected to be in Regular Attendance. Please Read.

2021 National Scout Jamboree

Registration is open for the 2021 National Scout Jamboree – takes place in July 2021 (exact dates of departure/arrival tbd). Scouts that register/pay will be placed in a local Jamboree contingent troop which will meet monthly, do activities and prepare for the adventure. Mr Olson and Mr Gonzalez are part of these troops and can answer any Q’s you have. Many of our scouts have gone to prior jambos – it’s life-changing and should be done at least once in their scouting careers! Contact Mr Colton for questions and/or help signing up. You will need to create an account at http://my.scouting.org and know your scout ID.

West Point Camporee 4/24-26/2020

Join Troop 97 as our scouts camp out at Lake Fredrick and enjoy a great day of military-themed activities! Scouts hike in Friday and out Sunday. Very tight deadlines/timeline to signup – please see flyer and register immediately if interested. Pay at 2/12 meeting or paypal (code coming).

There are 25 slots available so scouts are encouraged to register early as there is a limited amount of slots. If we have over 25, Scoutmaster selection will go into effect as per flyer guidelines.

HVC Merit Badge College Sat 3/21/20

Hudson Valley Council’s annual Merit Badge College!
Location: Minisink Valley HS, 2320 US-6, Middletown NY 10940
Deadline to register – 3/6/2020
Cost – Varies w/signup.
Please register and pay on the HVC Website. Registration goes live 1/31 thru 3/6. Scouts should work on pre-requisites and submit them to counselors via email prior to the course. Troop 97 prefers that scouts do not take eagle-required merit badges at MBC.

Summer Camp at NoBeBoSco June 28 – July 4, 2020

This is the Troop’s annual week at summer camp. For more information, visit http://nobebosco.org/. Camp No-Be-Bo-Sco has provided a premium Scouting experience for the Boy Scouts in the New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania area continuously since 1927. The camp borders the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area and is right on the Appalachian Trail. All of the facilities are inspected and certified by the BSA and the State of New Jersey.

Deadline to register – May 20, 2020
Cost – $440 if paid by April 8, $485 if paid by May 20.
Payment is in person only. Early bird payment must be made to Mr. Steingart or Mr. Colton by April 8.
