About the Event
This hike is suited for all scouts and will focus on the 7 Leave No Trace (LNT) Principles. Every Scout who plans and participates in the pre-hike activities and the hike will receive a library set of LNT reference cards. Every Cub Scout who participates in the pre-hike activities and the hike will receive a Bigfoot+7 Principles reference card and an Outdoor Ethics reference card. All participants will get an LNT micro carabiner to clip the reference cards to their packs.
We will meet in the parking lot, review the LNT Principles, and hike about ½ mile to the peak (approximately 300 ft elevation gain). We’ll stop briefly for a snack and some photos before our return to the parking lot.
While the trail is a 1-mile moderate hike, it can be rocky. So, make sure to wear good hiking boots or sneakers with good grip. Eat a good breakfast.…
