10 Mile Hike

EVENT FLYER

The group will meet in the Ramapo Valley Reservation parking lot at 9:00 AM (depart at 9:30). We will hike along the Vista Trail from the parking lot passing the scenic Cactus Edge and Hawk Rock viewpoints. The hike will then follow the Halifax Trail past the Halifax Ruins, heading south along the Shore Trail along Bear Swamp Lake. We will follow the Cannonball Trail passing the old Scout camp, Camp Yaw Paw and follow the Yellow and Yellow –Silver trails back to the Vista Loop Trail ending in the Ramapo Valley Reservation parking lot.

All hikers MUST be in hiking boots. Dress for a day hike in early winter conditions. Warm layers including rain gear packed in a good fitting day pack. No draw string bags

Bring lunch and energy snacks (NO NUTS) and plenty of water.

Please plan on cold weather. Early December weather can vary greatly and we will be going in all weather conditions.

Make sure to eat a good breakfast
