20 Mile Hike

*End time is an estimate and will depend on participant's desired pace.

This hike requires completion of 2 - ten mile hikes with Troop 97 and Scoutmaster approval.

The hike will start in Highland on the Hudson Valley Rail Trail which we will follow on the Walkway Over the Hudson. This 1.25 mile long bridge once carried the railroad over the river and has striking views both to the north and south. On the east side of the Hudson the trail becomes the Dutchess Rail Trail. We will hike 10 miles and then return to the start location. There are restored railroad stations along the way as well as the Walkway cantilever truss to explore.

Bring lunch, plenty of (nut free) high energy snacks and 3 quarts of water. Eat a good breakfast!
