20 Mile Hike

Our hike will start and end at the Harriman Trailhead at the intersection of River Rd. and N. Main St in the village of Harriman, NY.  (Bottom left corner in the map below)

Scouts will hike a 10 mile portion of the Orange County Rail Trail and then turn around and hike back to the starting point for a total of 20 miles hiked.  (The turn around point is at Old Chester Rd.)

The trail passes through some shaded areas, but much of the trail is in the sun.  A hat and sunscreen are a must.  We’ll be passing lakes and forested areas as well as towns and parks.

Bring plenty of water (at least 3 liters) and high-energy snacks.

Wear SNEAKERS because the trail is paved.
