About the Event
*This event is for scouts and registered adults only*
Time to get back out on the trail! This hike will have us heading to check out the Fingerboard Shelter in Harriman State Park. We will meet at Germonds parking lot to pick up some supplies (bags, saws) and head to Tiorati parking lot on Seven Lakes Drive.
Along the way we will be observing the Outdoor Code and “Leave No Trace” principles by picking up any trash along the way.
At the shelter we will be having lunch & practicing some scout skills like proper hatchet and saw usage to process down some firewood. We will leave it for the next group who stays there, and clean up the shelter and surrounding area. We will be packing out all trash.
Please remember to eat a good breakfast and pack a lunch including plenty of water!
Equipment / Gear Required:
We will be outdoors - dress for the weather! Wear sturdy hiking shoes/boots, and a pair of work gloves. Daypacks, bring water (at least 70 oz), snacks and lunch, sunscreen, bug spray, rain gear, and personal first aid kit.
