Beach Camping -Seaside Heights Camporee

Troop 97 will be kicking off the SUMMER Early this year at the Seaside Heights Camporee !!!

Come join us to enjoy all the fun the Seaside Heights has to offer. Camp on the beach, wake up to the sunrise, go swimming, play games, and more!

The cost per person includes:

• Beach camping
• Ocean swimming at LifeGuard areas
• Shore Fishing (Bring a pole and bait)
• Meals: breakfast Saturday/Sunday, Saturday lunch, Saturday dinner (voucher for a variety of boardwalk restaurants on Saturday)
• Access to Breakwater Beach Waterpark or Casino Pier Amusement Rides can be purchased at Seaside Heights. Go to: https://casinopiernj.com/admissions/ for more info.
• Also, bring money for Pier games,  souvenirs, or snacks.

Patch Competition:

Scouts will have the opportunity to submit a design of their own to adorn this year's Seaside Heights Camporee patch! Start working on your designs, make them colorful, all scouts can submit. The winner gets made and distributed to all who attended!

What to Bring:

We will send a list of items to pack to the registered scouts in the next couple of weeks, Stay Tuned!!

Transportation:

Carpooling recommended. As we get closer to the event, we will know how many Adult Leaders will be attending so we can organize transportation. Parents are more than welcome to drive scouts to and from the event. Please be mindful of the check-in/check-out times and keep leaders informed of arrival time changes.

Check-in on Friday:

We will meet by the Lifeguard building at Kearny Avenue and the boardwalk:

To avoid any check-in/registration delays, Plan to arrive by 6pm on Friday (directions). If you arrive after 6 pm please reach out to Mr Poholsky or Mr. Gonzalez (Please see above for contact info).

Meals:

On Friday, Please have dinner at home or on your way to the beach. The troop will have some light snacks and water for Friday night but we will not be serving dinner.

• Saturday Breakfast: Breakfast will be served at the campsite.
• Saturday lunch:  We will be serving lunch at our campsite. Feel free to bring money for any additional snacks while on the boardwalk.
• Saturday Dinner: A voucher to a variety of restaurants on the boardwalk will be included
• Sunday Breakfast: Light breakfast will be served at the campsite after packing and cleanup is done.

Medications:

Please bring all medications in a ziploc bag clearly labeled. Please, use the summer camp medication form to indicate the medication name, dose, and time to be administered. Print additional copies if needed.

Checkout-out and pick-up on Sunday:

Scouts will be dismissed after breakfast and cleanup is done. We are aiming to be out of Seaside Heights by 9:30 am. Please arrive on time to pick up your scout(s).

If scouts are sharing a ride with one of the adult leaders who is attending the camporee, we will be heading back home after the check-out procedure is completed and the rest of the scouts have been picked up.

Uniform

Swimsuits, beach sandals or crocs, short, Troop Class B shirt
