Holiday Backpacking

This is our Holiday Backpacking trip. Bring battery operated string lights to decorate the shelter!

Saturday: The group will meet by the trailer at the Germonds parking lot at 7:00 AM, departure is at 7:30. We will do a gear check, and gather any equipment we need from the shed/trailer. All scouts must have a ride to and from the trailhead unless arrangements are made in advance.

We will head to St. John’s Church in the Woods parking lot and pick up the Appalachian Trail down the road. Our path will take us past Flight 6231, then to Big Hill Shelter. While there we will set up camp and begin collecting and processing fire wood and make ourselves comfortable in the lean-to. We may go on a side hike to the reservoir or fire tower.
