Intro to Backpacking '26

This is a great trip to learn how to go backpacking (if it is your first time) or you can help teach if you  are an experienced trekker!  Do you have questions about boots, the right backpack or sleeping bag to  take backpacking? Our Troop has experienced scout instructors (some who have been to Philmont) who can help! 

Saturday:  The group will meet by the trailer at the Germonds parking lot at 7:30 AM (depart at 8:00am). After group gear and food are distributed, we will drive to the parking area at the Johnsontown Road circle (199 Johnsontown Rd, Sloatsburg, NY 10974) (41.17994, -74.16395) off the southwest end of Seven Lakes Drive.  Led by members of the PLC, we will hike to the Dutch Doctor Shelter.  If available, we will set up in the shelter or set up tents at one of the campsites.  Troop Guides and Instructors will have an…
