Late Fall Backpack; Feast on the Mountain

Saturday: The group will meet by the trailer at the Germonds parking lot at 8 AM (depart at

8:30am), for carpooling to drop off at the parking area at Anthony Wayne Recreation Area.

We will head to the West Mountain shelter from the parking lot using a combination of bike

trails and the Appalachian Trail. Once at the shelter, we will set up tents around the shelter. We

may then take a side hike via the Appalachian Path. When we return to the shelter, we will

prepare dinner.

Sunday: After breakfast, hike out to pick up point back at Anthony Wayne Recreation Center

via the Appalachian Trail (White Trail) with many scenic views.

Pack light and tight, remember that we will be carrying troop gear and food in addition to our

own. A list of required personal gear is available on the Troop website.

NO COTTON! MUST BRING WATER

Please plan on cold weather. Early November weather can vary greatly, and we will be going

regardless of weather conditions.

Meals: Everyone should bring their own lunch. The Troop will provide dinner and dessert for

Sat. and a light breakfast Sunday. Bring lunch, healthy snacks for trail and eat a good breakfast

at home on Saturday.

You must also bring 3+ liters of water, one liter for yourself and two liters to share with

the troop for cooking. ***REMEMBER, NO NUTS or PEANUT BUTTER***
