About the Event
This is a great opportunity to honor our service women and men that have courageously served our country.
There are approximately 900 service women and men that have been laid to rest at the Brick
Church Cemetery in which we would like to join other scouts to place an American Flag
alongside their tombstone as an additional way to honor them,
We will begin the day with a brief ceremony and then break into groups to work towards
accomplishing our goal.
Parents, you are welcome to drop off your scout or to feel free to walk with your scout and
participate.
About Brick Church Cemetery:
Dating back to 1794, the Brick Church Cemetery is listed in the U.S. National Register of Historic Places and is the final resting place of many historic figures, including Revolutionary War veterans and Daniel Carter Beard, the first National Commissioner of the Boy Scouts of America.
Equipment / Gear Required:
Class A uniform. It would be helpful to bring a long
screwdriver to help place the flags in the ground. Always a
good idea to pack water and to look at weather and dress
appropriately.
