About the Event
Located in the Heart of the NH Lake Region, Mt. Cardigan rises out of the Shem Valley as a beacon for outdoor lovers. The area is a paradise for snowboarding, hiking, snow shelter building, sledding, back country skiing and other winter adventures.
There are opportunities for day hikes past frozen waterfalls and ponds through this 1200-acre reservation owned by the Appalachian Mountain Conference (AMC). The Cardigan Lodge, situated at the base of Mt Cardigan, features comfortable rooms, a dining room and a common area with fireplace.
Saturday morning, a smaller group (12 max) will be backpacking to the top of Mt. Cardigan and will stay overnight in the High Cabin shelter just below the treeline.
