Nicholas's project is the creation and installation of bat houses for bats in Sloatsburg’s Community Fields park. The village of Sloatsburg currently does not have any bat houses for bats in the area and we will be building (4) four for the community. Bat houses are an amazing way to help bats as it allows them to have a safe home for themselves and a safe place to raise their pups. It would also keep insect populations under control using a natural predator. The bat houses will be painted a dark brown allowing them to absorb enough heat to keep the bats warm and will be mounted on wooden posts.

Scouts should bring work gloves and a mask. They should also wear clothes they are fine with getting dirty.

Snacks and water will be supplied for the workdays.
