About the Event
The Scouting program encourages Scouts to learn and practice leadership skills. Understanding the core concepts of leadership helps a Scout to be prepared to assume new roles and challenges.
This training will help Scouts explore the idea of leadership, learn about the Troop's Leadership roles, the organization of the unit, and the core skills needed to be more effective leaders.
Some of the topics covered will be:
- Organization of the troop through leadership roles
- The roles and responsibilities of the leadership positions in the troop
- Core leadership skills and ideals: scouts recognize their own role in leadership, and reflect on experiences they have had
Participation in this event will give back to the troop with the knowledge and skills you will bring to your leadership positions now and in the future.
Participation of all Scouts newly elected or appointed is mandatory.
This training is for
- Scouts who have earned 1st Class rank and above
- Scouts who have earned 2nd Class and working toward 1st Class
