An Eagle Has Landed: Greg Morris

ree

On Saturday, August 16, 2025, Greg Morris sat for his Final Eagle Board and was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout!  He was escorted by Mr. Poholsky.

Greg spoke to the Eagle Board about his Eagle Project at the K-9 Corrals Dog Park in Congers. There he led his crew of scouts, friends, and family in adding engaging features for dogs and beautifying the park with landscaping. He also added new signage, a seating area, and a leash holder. Greg surveyed the patrons of the park as to their needs, and developed his plan accordingly. He also shared with the board his strong connection with animals, especially his dog Toby. Greg was thankful that the holes they had to dig went smoothly, and remembers a lot of concrete pouring.

Greg served the troop as Scribe and Quartermaster. He especially appreciated being Scribe, as he liked being a part of such a scout-led process where scout’s voices were heard. His favorite Merit Badge was Sailing, as he has been doing that all his life. He liked it so much that he took the badge twice.

His favorite scouting trip was Philmont He went when he was 14, and loved being able to do the trek with both his brothers and his father. Greg recognizes his growth through scouting, and how he is now older and in a position to give back to younger scouts. He thinks Kind is the most important part of the Scout Law, as people take notice when you are kind and will pay it forward. He says a little bit of kindness goes a long way. His advice for new scouts is to take it slow and enjoy it while you can, and take time to have fun. Greg is starting his new chapter in life at Ramapo College, pursuing study toward nursing and eventually anesthesiology.

Please join me in congratulating Greg for achieving this milestone!
