Eagle Scout Edgar Rodriguez - a message from his parents Lymari and Edgar
Recently, Edgar Rodriguez was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) and he is currently in the hospital receiving treatment. His condition was deemed to be the best case for a 100% recovery. The first month will be spent at the hospital then it'll be monthly treatment. This will be a long journey for him and us and one from which we will all rise stronger than ever.
Although he was very ill for about a week due to some complications, he has remained positive and looking forward to the near future. The treatment is working well. Every day his health is improving and he is getting stronger. He wakes up, gets up and shows up everyday! He is a true warrior.
As he is feeling well, he is looking forward to returning home and wonders what he'll do now that he will be back home for about 8 months. Through this ordeal, He has not lost his sense of humor :) He also appreciates every gesture, text, email . He responds to all.
As for ways to help, at first we thought we could do it all. We quickly realized that was impossible. A meal train was started and it has been a blessing, link attached. Edgar is also hungry all the time (LOL) and loves snacking - cashews, M&Ms, kit kats, muffins, Quest Bars (purple), Sour Cream & Onion Lays, original cheerios... teen stuff!!
